If ever your heart longs for an iconic Tuscan getaway, La Calla will fill your every dream. From arrival, my wife and I were greeted by Lulu, Luca and Maya, our hosts well mannered family dog. The privacy of the house, property & grounds were more than described with very clean and comfortable beds & bathrooms (w oh so quiet AC), a well appointed kitchen (we love to cook), the best swimming pool ever & stunning views in all directions.Our host couple foraged in the local mountains and gave us some precious porcini mushrooms. Delicious. We told Lulu we were interested in visiting an olive press farm down the road and she called ahead. We we happened to make a visit the proprietor welcomed us and gave us a tour of her oil press. We happily bought 4 bottles that we brought home with us. So spicy and delicious.This is a multi-generational compound. While we were there the grandfather harvested grapes from his vineyard and then processed them, de-stemming the clusters, pressing the grapes and pumping the juice into a vat to begin the fermentation process. He was very gracious to allow us to watch. The location made for easy drives to Anghiari, Cortona, Siana, Sansepolcro (huge grocery store), Orvieto, Arezzo and may other nearby Tuscan & Umbrian towns. That being said, above all else the amazing quiet, serenity and views with our morning coffee. All this and 9 hours sleep every night!Needless to say, we loved our visit and would love to do it all again!

Wij hadden een super verblijf! De foto’s kunnen de echte schoonheid van het domein en de omgeving niet evenaren, in het echt zijn de uitzichten nóg mooier! Alles was aanwezig in het huisje en extra vragen konden we heel gemakkelijk stellen via een bericht of in persoon. De super lieve hond Maya was voor ons een pluspunt ☺️

We loved our stay, despite some dodgy weather on one day! The location is very peaceful and away from it all - exactly what we needed. The pool was great, the view spectacular, and the accommodation really well appointed.

My sisters and I have agreed that htis actually was our dream holiday come true at La Calla. We had high expectations and were used to having to adjust but the La Calla was everything we had hoped for and more. The cottage/Villa was comfortable, warm and welcoming. Full of character and beautifully decorated it felt less like an impersonal vacation villa and more our long lost faily home in Tuscany. The area is green and lush with endless rolling hills. WE had expected to d rive to all the surrounding hill towns but found oursleves draped around the spectacular pool area entirely satisfied and not needing to go anywhere. WE had found our dream spot. WE were very sad to say goodbye. Maya, the household dog, is often mentioned in the reviews. We now know why. She was our own personal bundle of unconditional love - - the holiday bonus you did not know you needed! Luca's partner was our gracious host who lives next door. She managed to be invisible but magically available if and when needed. We all came away feeling very lucky and somewhat blessed. Many thanks for helping to make this sisterly reumion a dream come true. Aplogies for all the gushing.....

Amazing location! It's even way better than on the pictures. Lovely domain, exactly what we were looking for in Tuscany. The house itself was also very nice, fitted perfectly within the style of Tuscany. The poolside is like you're living the dream. Super friendly hosts, you can ask them anything. Their dog Maya was the cherry on the cake for us. Super sweet. We had an amazing week! Would 100% recommend to anyone!

Very nice place with a stunning view of the valley. Very welcoming and friendly host. Great recommendations and super help. Area around is great with proximity to village which was very nice. Great hiking area for both bike and hiking. Happy to go back.

Just a stunning location and accommodation. A piece of paradise in Anghiari. Lulu and Luca were superb hosts, so responsive to all our questions. If you want a truly relaxing atmosphere then I can’t recommend this highly enough. The added bonus for us was their gorgeous dog Maya. We hope to return and this time maybe get to use the gorgeous swimming pool.

Fint hus med fantastisk pool

Vi är en familj på två vuxna och fyra barn som bodde i huset i en vecka. Huset är väldigt vackert och poolen är helt otrolig, troligtvis den finaste vi badat i. Vi uppskattade att det fanns AC i sovrummen då det var väldigt varmt ute. Barnen hade väldigt kul med hunden Maya som springer runt fritt. Det finns några restauranger i närheten som man når med bil. Det man bör veta om är att ägarna bor i huset precis vilket gör att bostaden inte upplevs som helt privat (om man tycker det är viktigt).

Incredible Stay

During our three week trip to Italy, we were fortunate to have stayed at this beautiful property for nine days. It was the perfect accommodation and location for the six of us. Lulu and Luca are wonderful hosts. Lulu greeted us and gave us a tour of the property and provided helpful information about the area. They were always available to answer questions and even made us a dinner reservation in town. We loved their friendly and well-behaved dog, Maya. She was especially good with our children and helped keep them entertained during our stay! The house itself is spacious, clean, and comfortably updated, while maintaining all of its Tuscan charm. While we loved the home itself, we chose to spend most of our time in all of the amazing outdoor spaces. The views are astonishing from every angle. There are lovely outdoor eating areas where we enjoyed many memorable meals. The kitchen had everything we needed to showcase the local ingredients we purchased in Anghiari, alongside fresh vegetables generously shared from Lulu’s garden. The pictures of the infinity pool don’t begin to do it justice. The pool and views of the valley have to be seen in person to really be believed. We all enjoyed countless hours in the pool. It was a great way to relax in between the times we were exploring the area. The property is very well situated. We loved Anghiari and visited many surrounding towns in Tuscany and Umbria. Sincerest thanks for an incredible stay!

Beautiful Home with Amazing Vistas

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this home. My husband, teenage son and tween daughter spent five wonderful days there…we did not want to leave. The house was immaculate and very well and thoughtfully appointed. It was the perfect size for our family. We dined outside every night, enjoying the sunsets and evening stars over the valley below. Days were spent at the incredible infinity pool, which was not only stunning but had every amenity. The owners, Luca and Lulu, were tremendously gracious - not omnipresent, but always available. They even made us a basket of fresh vegetables from their garden, and Luca climbed a fig tree in the yard to secure some fresh figs for us! But when asked what their favorite part of our time at this home was, and in fact for the entire 3-1/2 weeks we spent in Italy, our children consistently respond that it was the owners’ dog, Maya, and the cat who roams about the property, Rosa. They spent countless hours outside together with their “vacation pets”. The nearby village was quaint, and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor antiques market. A large supermarket and other shopping were also quite close. Five stars do not seem enough. If I could give the property 100 stars, I would!

Beautiful

Our family had a wonderful time. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. Due to the extreme heat, we were very grateful for the a/c in the bedrooms. The pool was the highlight of our stay. Beautiful setting with phenomenal views! Our hosts were very gracious and helpful, letting us know about local events that we really enjoyed. Big bonus for us was Maya the dog, who was such a joy to have around as we missed our dogs at home.

Tuscan Dream

What a wonderful stay! The villa is very traditional and rustic, with a breathtaking view across the valley. Everything you would ever need for a great holiday was supplied. Lulu and Luca were excellent hosts, friendly and attentive. The location is great too, a 5minute drive from the medieval town of Anghiari, and the more industrial Sansepolcro - so plenty choice for restaurants etc. We had a fabulous time, the view and the infinity pool making it even more special!

Beautiful accommodation with a marvellous view

We stayed one week at the beautiful accommodation from Lulu and Luca. As we arrived Lulu and her dog welcomed us very friendly. Maya the dog stayed with us the whole day, as we were in the garden. She wasn't allowed to go into the house or pool area. Lulu showed us around the house and the garden and gave us always helpful information. She was good to contact and gave us quick and helpful answers. All in all Lulu and Luca are very friendly and caring hosts. The house is a very beautiful, typical tuscan house in the hills with a marvellous view. The panoramic pool is one of the highlights. We enjoyed our stay there. Thank you for everything.

Super tolles Ferienhaus

Wir hatten einen perfekten Aufenthalt. Das Haus ist wunderbar, Tip top sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Besitzer wohnen im Nachbarhaus sind sehr, sehr nett und helfen sofort bei Fragen/Problemen. Der Garten und vor allem der Pool sind ein Traum mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick. Nicht zu letzt hat Maya, der tolle Hund der Besitzer unsere Kinder eine Woche lang begeistert- und das obwohl unser Sohn eigentlich Angst vor Hunden hat. In der Gegend um Anghiari gibt es nicht so viel zu besichtigen, was uns in kleinster Weise gestört hat. Man sollte es nur wissen…. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, sollte es uns erneut in die Toskana verschlagen!!

Perfect rest in picturesque surroundings

Our family (5 people, parents with a young boy and grandparents) was visiting for about ten days in this very beautiful house, which is extremely tastefully decorated and leaves no wish unfulfilled. The house offers a spacious kitchen with a large dining table, which soon became the centre of our domestic activities. Next to it there is a separate dining room, where we rather played our board games. A great living room completes the offer on the first floor. Two bathrooms and three bedrooms simply offer a lot of space for the whole family upstairs. The hosts are extremely helpful and very flexible, the two read every wish from your eyes. In addition to Lulu and Luca, Maya, a German shepherd, lives there and won over our family in no time. Such a lovely animal is extremely rare. Our nine-year-old son was with the dog from morning till night, actually she lived with us more than with her actual owners - and we enjoyed it very much. When we left, there was real separation pain between Maya and our son. An outdoor seating area invites you to enjoy leisurely breakfasts and dinners with a wonderful view of a valley. This is how you imagine Tuscany: looking from a hill into a valley with fields and nature. Gorgeous. The town of Anghiari is a few kilometers away and offers everything you need for daily needs. Also restaurants, Osteria's etc. are sufficiently available. The town makes a lot of effort to entertain its guests. We were lucky and were on site when there was a classical music festival and on another evening a market with music events was held. Excursions to Arezzo or to Chianti complete the perfect stay. We can highly recommend this accommodation and the lovely landlords, so supportive, relaxed and understanding, simply brilliant. Both - the landlords and the house - make the stay a perfect vacation that we want to experience again: with Lulu, Luca and "Maya". We will come back!!!
